Care Assistant Sharon with one of our Residents.

Tudor Court is registered as a specialized dementia home caring for people, over 65, suffering with dementia and pre senile dementia. We provide mental stimulation for our clients with a programme of activities carried out by our staff and visiting therapists. This is included in our inclusive charges. We also offer long term care, respite care and day care service, as well as one-to-one cognitive stimulation therapy at extra cost to our clients.

In fulfilling this commitment we draw on upon all available resources to provide the highest quality of care within a safe, stimulating environment. We continually seek new and innovative techniques to assure the care and comfort of our clients. Their physical, emotional and social needs receive equal attention. We believe that by promoting independence and activity, whenever possible, the well-being of our clients is enhanced. Because the quality of care depends on the quality of the staff, our policy is to employ dedicated personnel who receive regular training to ensure that the high standards set are met and maintained. Our aim is to provide an environment in which attention is genuine and care professionally provided.

"The staff have been great with mum, thank you for the good care and making us feel welcome at Tudor Court."A. Willby - Relative of resident.

Tudor Court Care Home

Any residential home, no matter how impressive the facilities may be, is only as good as its staff. In ours, you will find a high ratio of staff to clients working under the watchful eye of senior staff. We have qualified carers on duty 24 hours a day. And, equally importantly, we select only staff with dedication, patience and a genuine interest in our clients welfare. All of our staff hold NVQ qualifications and are specially trained to help people with short term memory problems. They also hold qualifications in other specialised fields like MRSA treatment.

Tudor Court offers care with a difference, you can't help notice the smiles and natural warmth of our carers. If fact we only recruit staff who enjoy their vocation and give our clients the consideration and special treatment they deserve. The vast majority of our staff have worked at the Home for many years and have huge amount of experience between them.  Regular staff training sessions are an important contribution to the efficient management of Tudor Court and are considered an essential part of running a residential care home. Care staff are on duty 24 hours a day and are always available to the clients. Chiropodists and hairdressers visit the Home and appointments with Hospitals, Doctors etc can be made for our clients and they can be accompanied to those appointments.

Our emphasis on integrating care and rehabilitation ( for those that need it ) brings a team approach. All those involved - the client, family doctor, family, friends and staff - become team members in contributing to the clients well-being.

A question often asked is "Can anything be done for people with dementia ?"

It is quite common for people to feel hopeless when they first think about people with dementia. After all, the conditions which cause dementia have serious consequences and many will have witnessed people with dementia losing more and more abilities. There are many types of therapies out there which can help slow the development of the condition and with medication prescribed by doctors, the progress of the condition can be slowed and disabilities made less of a problem.

Relatives, friends and pets are always welcome

Tudor Court caters for the needs and wishes of the active older person, as well as the residents who value their space and independence but, because of frailty or handicap, need varying degrees of support. We place great importance on keeping in touch. This is why we encourage residents to entertain relatives and friends as often as they wish. We also encourage clients who have pets to bring them with them when they move into the Home. Nobody wants to be separated from a pet which has been part of their life. Each room has its own washing facilities, television and nurse call systems as well as being close to the lifts. Every care has been taken with the design of the building to help residents who are less mobile as well rooms being close to the lift which has an extra wide door for wheelchairs. Twenty two of our thirty rooms have en-suite facilities and are all centrally heated. Residents have a large, airy dining room as well as a choice of comfortable sitting rooms. Residents may bring personal items to feel even more at home at Tudor Court. In-home entertainments and outings to theatres and shops are regularly arranged, but if you are looking for a relaxing time in warm weather, the large well tended garden, accessible from the large conservatory, is a popular spot with our residents.
